In the podcast, Senator Fitz-Gerald said, “As our nation begins the sixth year engaged in the war in Iraq, I want to applaud the work of our troops and the men and women of the armed services serving in the Middle East and Afghanistan. They have been fighting under difficult circumstances with often unclear objectives from our Commander in Chief.”
Senator Fitz-Gerald continued, “Because of the sacrifices they have made for this country, the way we take care of them when they come home speaks volumes about who we are as a nation. How we treat our veterans is an indication of what value we place on their service and our national priorities.”
Senator Fitz-Gerald concluded the podcast, “Saddam Hussein is gone. There are no WMDs. Our military mission, whatever it was, is over and it is time to bring our troops home. I hope you will join my campaign to bring a sense of urgency to change to our country.”
